The days when you couldn’t do anything about hair loss other than seeing your hair fall are gone. Science has created solutions and surgical procedures that are non-invasive and require minimal subsequent care.
However, to get the most out of these treatment options, you should choose the right treatment for your hair and an experienced specialist who has treated other clients with similar hair loss conditions.
Vinci Hair Clinic operates in more than 25 countries around the world, so we keep our clients up-to-date with the latest treatments to keep our clients happy. This article describes the main factors behind hair loss and the various treatments currently used in the industry. But what is hair loss? Why does that happen?
“Why do I lose my hair and how should I handle it?”
Both men and women experience hair loss as a result of some genetic and some environmental factors. Poor eating habits, air pollution, and severe stress are three possible causes of hair loss that can lead to loss of self-confidence and impact on performance in personal and professional life.
Finding the root cause of your hair loss is the first step in treating it properly. By consulting with a hair specialist, you can prevent taking unnecessary or inappropriate medications and trying to get rid of hair loss with the wrong treatment. Your hair loss may not be a problem at all. What you are experiencing could be normal hair loss of 100 hairs per day, which is part of the growth cycle.
However, if hair loss needs to be treated, there are topical and oral treatments that leave no visible scars. If these treatments do not work, hair transplants and other procedures may restore the appearance.
Treatment options are as follows:
- Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment
- Mesotherapy
- Microscalp Pigment (MSP)
- Hair follicle unit extraction (FUE) and hair follicle unit transplantation (FUT) Flocking
- Use of laser cap
- Topical and oral medications (eg finasteride, minoxidil).
Used in combination with laser caps and drugs such as minoxidil and finasteride, MSP helps restore appearance with minimal intervention. However, MSP differs from most treatments because it is not intended to restore lost hair, but simply to create the illusion of hair in the bald areas.
What is MSP and how does it work?
MSP Is an innovative non-surgical technique that helps restore the appearance of dark hair. It involves the application of pigments of the same color as your real hair, portraying your hair as richer and sweeter.
This process is performed using electrical equipment similar to that used by tattooists, with slight differences taking into account the various requirements of the scalp. The procedure can be explained in 5 steps.
- A specialist will check the scalp to verify and analyze the flexibility of the scalp before starting the procedure.
- After assessing the density of the hair, mark the appropriate areas with MSP.
- The specialist will prepare the appropriate type of pigment that matches the color of the existing follicle as closely as possible.
- MSP experts use small non-invasive microneedles to fill the marked areas with each type of pigment.
- The procedure is applied by following the angle of natural hair growth. It will be completed within 6 hours.
Compared to regular tattoos, MSP uses more organic pigments and avoids pigments with high metallic content to reduce the impact on the client’s scalp. Also, both processes use different techniques. While tattoos are scarred and penetrate deeper into the skin, MSP touches the more superficial layers of the skin and applies dot technology.
MSP life and aftercare
The result is much more controllable because this procedure does not actually involve hair growth, which is a difficult process. This means that if properly treated with the right type of ink, the treatment will have long-term results. With proper care, MSP can provide satisfactory results for at least 6 years. In addition to normal care, pigments may need to be modified after 4 years to keep the color vivid.
After MSP treatment, the scalp feels tight as it begins to heal. Therefore, care must be taken not to apply pressure by rubbing or stroking. In addition to delaying the healing process, this can cause the scalp to become infected. Even shampoos and showers should be restricted immediately after the procedure.
For 5-10 days after applying MSP, you should avoid strenuous exercise that can cause your scalp to become covered with sweat or damaged by pressure. The scalp needs to heal and the pigment needs to dry and settle properly. Once recovery is complete, there are two things to keep in mind regarding MSP care.
- At first, your scalp may feel frustrated with ink. To prevent itching and peeling, apply a moisturizer daily to keep your scalp healthy and clean.
- Sunlight. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun can damage MSP pigments. Put on a hat and apply sunscreen to keep it out of the sun. Even better, reduce the amount of time you are exposed to direct sunlight.
Final idea
Hair loss can be difficult to deal with, but flocking may not be necessary to restore the overall appearance of the hair. Minimally invasive surgery such as MSP is quick, accessible and produces satisfactory results. It requires little maintenance and can be extended with a few modifications.
