If you can’t find a hair loss treatment that offers everything you want, you may be a candidate for a hybrid hair procedure. These procedures combine different treatments to provide patients with a personalized solution that combines different benefits. This helpful guide will walk you through some common hybrid hair procedures and explain how they work.
Combination of FUE and FUT
You may have heard Follicular unit extraction (FUE) When Follicular unit transplantation (FUT).. They are two of the most popular hair growth methods. You can combine these methods to maximize the results at once. Both of these methods can be time consuming, but hybrid treatment allows the surgeon to achieve the intended results with minimal return visits. The mechanism is as follows.
Hair follicle unit transplantation, also known as the strip method, has been a popular hair growth surgery for many years. They call it the strip method. Because the doctor will take a strip of hair from behind your head, extract hair grafts from it, and place those grafts in your bald area. Basically, we take your hair and spread your wealth. This method was formerly known as a “plug”, but with advanced technology, the FUT procedure gives the patient a much thicker and more natural look than a traditional “plug”.
Hair follicle unit extraction (FUE) is similar to FUT, except that the surgeon removes each hair follicle unit individually, creates several hirsutism grafts from single hair, and transplants them into the affected area of the scalp. .. Let’s say you’re redoing the lawn for spring. If you pull a sheet of cut grass from the backyard, move it to the front yard and line up the sidewalk, it looks like a FUT. If you pick the glass blades individually and carefully place them to fill the gaps in the vestibule, it will look like a FUE. Some of the benefits of blending these two methods into one hybrid hair procedure are:

- FUT leaves a linear scar on the back of the head, but FUE does not. Combining them can limit scarring.
- You can maximize the number of grafts that will be transplanted with a single appointment. If you have a lot of area to cover, you can combine these treatments to get more plump and thick hair without making too many visits.
- FUE gives physicians more control over where to place each graft. Using FUT and FUE together gives more accurate results than using FUT alone.
Combination of FUE and collagen induction therapy (CIT)
Collagen induction therapy (CIT) is a type of non-surgical hair loss therapy in which doctors use scalp microneedles and serum to induce collagen production. It can stimulate hair growth by inducing the natural healing mechanism of your body to destroy calcification and fibrosis. This improves tissue oxygenation and nutrient flow, allowing hair follicles to grow naturally.
You may be wondering how effective CIT is. It may look magical, but it’s actually based on scientific evidence. It also dramatically improves blood flow to the hair follicles and delays hair loss. CIT is especially useful if you have a condition like androgenetic alopecia that causes hair loss. Usually, you will be treated every 4 to 6 weeks until you receive 3 to 4 treatments. You can then come back several times a year for maintenance.
When FUE is used in combination with CIT, hair growth can be supplemented with hair grafts that have been transferred. We will use FUE or FUT to help you recover your hair growth, but nothing is real. If you want to help the hair follicles grow naturally before a complete recovery treatment, you may be a candidate for a hybrid treatment with growth factors and CIT.
Combination of FUE and SMP
Scalp Micro Pigment (SMP) Is a treatment to make the scalp look richer and darker by depositing a small amount of 3D ink on the thinned part of the scalp. Professional technicians apply pigments to the strength, shade, and shape needed to create the look of thicker hair. This technique is ideal for supplementing FUE, especially if the hair is thin but not completely bald.
Using SMP in combination with FUE is a great solution for patients who want the best possible results without going through a few steps. FUE helps cover the bald head with a new hair arrangement, but if the donor area does not have enough hair to thicken as needed, SMP can help create an illusion. If you want to perform a hybrid procedure using both FUE and SMP, it is recommended that you perform the FUE procedure first. That way, our staff can see the results after a complete cure and plan to fill the place where they need it.
SMP is also an excellent way to hide scars on the scalp. FUE scars are barely visible, but some appear to have been eaten by moths, over-harvested by inexperienced clinicians. Linear scars are also left on the FUT and may or may not be visible depending on the hairstyle. Others may of course have a spacious donor area. In any case, SMP is a great solution for blending these unsightly problems.
A combination of microneedling and other non-surgical options
If the hair follicles are not growing, you may need some encouragement. You can also combine microneedling with a variety of growth factors and consider alternative procedures for different problems in the papillary line and scalp. Microneedling is a non-surgical treatment in which a doctor presses a motor against the scalp and inserts a series of small needles into different layers of tissue. Although it may sound counterproductive, creating these microinjury channels actually helps to heal hair follicles and promote hair growth. It also improves local absorption and makes various growth factors and medications significantly more effective.
Don’t worry if the needle is a little tense. The microneedling of the scalp includes local anesthesia, so you will not feel any treatment. In addition, the width of the needle is as small as 1 mm and treatment is usually completed within an hour.
You can also combine FUE and microneedling to avoid having to transplant many hair grafts. This will save more donor hair for the future.
Microneedling can cause complications in some patients, so be sure to tell your doctor about other symptoms before deciding on treatment.
